:Ee Chiou Huey Joins the Trend and Scoops Up a Lucky $100 Note
The latest viral trend making waves on social media involves a blindfolded player, armed only with a spatula, trying to scoop as many cash notes as possible into a box within a set time limit. The challenge has been embraced by various celebrities, including comedian Mark Lee and local restaurant House of Seafood, with one of the latest participants being YouTuber and actress Ee Chiou Huey.
On February 7, Chiou Huey, a talent under Mark Lee’s King Kong Media Production, shared a video on Instagram of herself attempting the challenge. As she blindly fumbled with the spatula, her colleagues could be heard teasing her with playful comments like, “This isn’t fair!” and “Eh, save some for me leh!”
Mark Lee, appearing on screen, helped shift the cash towards the center of the table. A quick estimate revealed over $1,000 in various denominations. After struggling for a while, Chiou Huey finally scooped up a $100 note just as Mark was preparing to toss another $10 into the box.
In a lighthearted Instagram story, Chiou Huey wrote, “This is the lucky ah pek (uncle) I scooped up! Probably never gonna use it. Gonna go frame it up!” She also shared, “Honestly didn’t expect to scoop up anything at all because it’s almost impossible. I thought the $100 was put into my box by my boss.” Later, she added with a smile, “Only after this video did I realise that, ‘Hey! I have a little luck too!'”
Chiou Huey’s manager, who participated in the game as well, walked away with $690 from the same challenge.
