Industry Representatives Strengthen the Singapore Business Federation Leadership
Lim Ming Yan has been re-elected as chairman of the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) for a third consecutive term. His re-election took place at the 22nd annual general meeting, where several new appointments were also announced.
The SBF council for the 2024-2026 term includes six newly appointed members, reflecting a blend of expertise from various industries. Among them are Daijiro Eguchi, president of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Elisa Mallis, chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce; and Lennon Tan, president of the Singapore Manufacturing Federation.
Three other prominent business leaders also joined the council: Sherman Kwek, group CEO of City Developments Ltd; Marcus Lam, executive chairman of PwC Singapore; and Jenny Lee, senior managing partner at Granite Asia Capital. This diverse representation aims to strengthen the SBF’s industry influence.
Andrew Lim, partner at Allen & Gledhill, and Chin Wei Jia, group CEO of Health Management International, were also nominated to be co-opted as members. This further broadens the range of expertise within the council.
Meanwhile, nine council members have completed their terms and stepped down. Lim expressed gratitude for their contributions, acknowledging their valuable service to the Federation.
The council also elected new office bearers, with Andrew Kwan appointed as vice-chairman and honorary secretary, and Mark Lee serving as vice-chairman and honorary treasurer. Other key leadership roles were also filled to guide the Federation’s upcoming initiatives.
Lim Ming Yan welcomed the new council members and expressed appreciation for the outgoing members, highlighting the strength they brought to the Federation during their term.
