Global Leaders to Address Key Issues Impacting Growth and Development in Asia
The Milken Institute is excited to announce the upcoming ninth annual Asia Summit, scheduled for September 28-30, 2022, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Singapore. This year’s Summit, themed “The World Transformed,” aims to tackle the adverse effects of human progress, including environmental degradation and economic disparities, while highlighting critical issues that drive growth and catalyze development in Asia.
After a hiatus due to the pandemic, the 2022 Asia Summit will welcome over 1,200 attendees for a fully in-person experience, complemented by a livestream broadcast for public panels. Participants will have the chance to engage with experts and leaders through various networking events, private dinners, and exclusive roundtable discussions.
During the three-day event, attendees will gain insights from prominent figures in government, finance, technology, sports, and more. Notable speakers include Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Malaysia’s Minister of Finance; Jean Hynes, CEO of Wellington Management; Hiraoki Kitano, Senior Executive Vice President and CTO of Sony Group Corporation; Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies in Singapore; and Rohit Sipahimalani, Chief Investment Officer of Temasek.
Laura Deal Lacey, Executive Director of the Asia Center, commented, “A combination of macro forces and social changes is reshaping the world as we know it. From advancements in technology and globalization to responses to the pandemic and the emergence of artificial intelligence, these factors will continue to influence our lives.” She emphasized that Asia is pivotal in the transformation shaping the global agenda, and the Milken Institute’s initiatives in the region aim to bring together leaders to share insights and foster discussions on issues that impact not only Asia but the world at large.
