GWM’s ORA Brand Launches First Model in Europe at Paris Motor Show 2022

Entry into European Market Signals Commitment to Electrification and Intelligent Mobility

BAODING, China, Oct. 21, 2022 – On October 17, ORA, the stylish “Pure Electric Brand” from GWM, unveiled its first model in the European market at the Paris Motor Show 2022, marking a significant step in its global expansion efforts.
In line with the growing trend of electrification and intelligent technology, GWM introduced ORA as its inaugural new energy vehicle brand. At the Paris Motor Show, ORA showcased three models, with the ORA GOOD CAT (known as FUNKY CAT in Europe) making its official debut. This model has received a five-star rating from Euro NCAP and will soon be available in the UK, Sweden, Germany, Israel, and Iceland.

Europe stands out as a region with a well-established automotive industry, known for its stringent vehicle access regulations. ORA has leveraged GWM’s comprehensive industrial chain, research and development, and manufacturing capabilities to initiate its European journey since 2021.

During the IAA Mobility 2021, ORA announced its European strategy, aiming to launch over 10 models by 2025. This year, ORA participated in events like the Fully Charged Show in London and EVS35 (the 35th International Electric Vehicle Symposium & Exhibition) in Norway, garnering significant interest from local audiences.

Additionally, ORA introduced its ORA APP in Europe and established a European experience center in Germany to facilitate in-depth interactions with users. The center’s design earned the Silver Award at the “2022 German Brand Award” from the German Design Committee.

In Asia, ORA made an impression at the Bangkok International Motor Show 2021, where the ORA GOOD CAT received the Best Design EV Award for its unique aesthetic. Just seven months later, the vehicle was launched in Thailand, quickly becoming a popular choice among local consumers.

To enhance the user charging experience, ORA has implemented a supercharging station in Thailand that integrates photovoltaic power generation, energy storage, and charging capabilities. The brand is also enhancing its service by establishing super experience stores in local areas, streamlining pre-sales, sales, and after-sales services.
