Husband clears the air on miscarriage timing after visiting National University Hospital (NUH).
A 36-week pregnant woman who experienced a miscarriage after waiting two hours at the National University Hospital (NUH) has had the circumstances surrounding her case clarified. In a Facebook post on March 31, the woman’s husband explained that, after meeting with NUH staff, it was confirmed that the miscarriage may not have occurred while she was at the hospital’s emergency department (ED).
The husband shared that when his wife arrived at the hospital, she had already stopped bleeding heavily, though it did not cease entirely. He emphasized that the nurses had checked on her at regular intervals during her time at the hospital.
He further apologized for his earlier Facebook post, which had led to unintended speculation and criticism directed at hospital staff. The man expressed gratitude toward the hospital, acknowledging their efforts in caring for his wife and resolving the situation. He stated that the issue had been cleared up and confirmed that no further comments would be made on the matter.
This clarification came a week after NUH issued a public apology on March 23, acknowledging that it could have provided more attentive care and monitoring for the expectant patient. The hospital also committed to reviewing its protocols for managing expectant patients in the ED to prevent similar incidents in the future.
