Prime Minister Wong to Meet Vietnam’s Top Leaders During Two-Day Trip to Hanoi

Singapore’s Prime Minister Lawrence Wong will embark on a two-day visit to Hanoi from March 25, reinforcing diplomatic and economic ties with Vietnam’s leadership. His visit follows an invitation from Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Singapore’s Prime Minister’s Office announced on March 24.

During the trip, both leaders will oversee the signing of key agreements aimed at expanding collaboration in areas such as the digital economy, cross-border electricity trade, and sustainable infrastructure development. This visit builds on the recent upgrade of Singapore-Vietnam relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, announced during Communist Party of Vietnam general secretary To Lam’s visit to Singapore earlier this month.

As part of his itinerary, PM Wong will attend a welcome ceremony at the Presidential Palace and participate in an official dinner hosted by PM Chinh. He will also hold discussions with Communist Party leader To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and National Assembly chairman Tran Thanh Man.

Accompanying PM Wong will be Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry Tan See Leng, Minister of State for Health and Digital Development and Information Rahayu Mahzam, as well as other senior officials.

In his absence, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong will serve as Acting Prime Minister.
