Jetstar has confirmed two alarming incidents involving disruptive passengers on separate flights between Bali and Melbourne over the weekend, leading to police intervention and flight cancellations.
The first incident took place on 31 March during flight JQ34 from Bali to Melbourne. According to reports, a female passenger attempted to open an emergency door mid-flight, two hours after takeoff. The aircraft was forced to turn back to Denpasar, landing at 10:45 pm. Upon arrival, authorities removed and detained the individual. Jetstar later cancelled the flight and arranged alternative travel for passengers.
In a separate case on a Melbourne-to-Bali flight, tensions escalated when a verbal altercation between two men turned physical. Footage circulating on Instagram, uploaded on 29 March, captures one man turning to face another passenger behind him and making a violent threat. Moments later, another traveller forcefully shoves him off his seat before crew members and fellow passengers intervene. Reports suggest the dispute stemmed from a disagreement over a reclined seat.
Jetstar has stated that it is investigating both incidents and has praised its crew for their swift handling of the situations. The viral footage of the confrontation has already amassed over 500,000 views online.
