Aloysius Pang’s Final Film The Antique Shop Set for Singapore Release on Dec 1

Fans Can Watch Pang’s Last Performance in the Thai-Singapore Horror Film

The Antique Shop, the final project featuring late actor Aloysius Pang, will be released in Singapore on December 1, as announced by Shaw Theatres. The Thai-Singaporean horror movie, created in collaboration with Dasmond Koh’s NoonTalk Media, also stars Damien Teo and Xu Bin.

Aloysius Pang had filmed parts of the movie before his tragic death in 2019 during overseas reservist training. Initially intended to continue filming upon his return, production was halted after his passing and further delayed by the pandemic. As a result, the film was split into three parts, with Pang appearing in the second segment, Half Second, where he portrays a Singaporean tourist trapped with a terrifying beast in a jail cell.

Dasmond Koh explained that the film’s December release, rather than in January, marks a sensitive choice to avoid causing sadness during the Chinese New Year season, which also marks the anniversary of Pang’s death.

The Antique Shop premiered in Thailand on June 2, and Pang’s appearance stirred emotional responses, with local host Quan Yi Fong breaking down during the screening, reflecting on the loss of the young actor.

Fans of Aloysius Pang will have a chance to see his final work on the big screen, as the release honors his lasting impact on Singaporean entertainment.
