Themed ‘Branding into the Smart Future’, this year’s award highlights digitalisation in branding.
Applications for the Singapore Prestige Brand Award (SPBA) have officially opened, seeking the most innovative and forward-thinking brands in Singapore. This year’s theme, “Branding into the Smart Future,” aims to acknowledge local brands that have effectively embraced digitalisation in their branding strategies.
Chew Lee Ching, chairman of the SPBA 2024 organising committee, stated that the theme is designed to guide the search for brands that demonstrate creativity, strategic insight, and a clear vision for the future.
The SPBA, co-organised by the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises and Lianhe Zaobao, with sponsorship from Maybank Singapore, has celebrated over 450 local brands since its inception in 2002.
The award features five categories:
Promising Brands (for firms established between three and eight years),
Established Brands (more than five years),
Heritage Brands (over 25 years),
Regional Brands (at least three years and presence in three foreign markets),
Special Merit (invitation-only for government agencies and non-profits making significant branding efforts).
Mark Fernandes, director of Gutcare, which won in the Promising Brands category last year, shared insights during the launch event. He emphasized the SPBA journey’s role in helping to visualize his brand’s mission and vision.
