Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards 2022 Recognizes Resilient Business Leaders and Enterprises

Honoring Excellence and Growth in a Post-Pandemic Landscape

SINGAPORE, Oct. 21, 2022 – The Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards (APEA) 2022 Regional Edition celebrated 25 exceptional business leaders and enterprises from across Asia, recognizing their remarkable resilience and growth amid the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The awards ceremony was graced by His Excellency Tun Dato’ Seri Utama Ahmad Fuzi bin Haji Abdul Razak, the Head of State of Penang. Award recipients were chosen from over 150 submissions spanning 16 markets, undergoing a stringent evaluation process conducted by a distinguished jury. The awards were categorized into four segments: Master Entrepreneur, Inspirational Brand, Fast Enterprise, and Corporate Excellence.

Since its inception in 2007, the APEA has been organized annually across 16 markets, with past honorees including notable figures such as TTC Vietnam’s Dang Van Thanh, Thailand’s Somphote Ahunai, and Cuckoo Malaysia’s Hoe Kian Choon, among others.

Noteworthy awardees this year include Dr. Steve Mark Gan, President & CEO of the Philippines’ Gan Advanced Osseointegration Center (GAOC), and Goh Thian Teck, CEO of Malaysia’s Bataras Sdn Bhd, recognized in the Master Entrepreneur category. In the Fast Enterprise category, Hong Kong’s CITIC Telecom International CPC Limited and the Philippines’ AyalaLand Logistics Holdings Corp. were honored. The Inspirational Brand category featured Thailand’s FWD Life Insurance Public Company Limited and Takeda Healthcare Philippines Inc., while Indonesia’s Kalbe Consumer Health and India’s Aspire Systems were recognized under Corporate Excellence.

Dr. Fong Chan Onn, Chairman of Enterprise Asia, emphasized in his welcome address the exemplary entrepreneurial spirit demonstrated by the award recipients. He stated, “Their unmatched determination and perseverance during the pandemic exemplify how responsible entrepreneurship drives sustainable economic growth in the post-pandemic era, positioning Asia at the forefront of the global economic reset.”

The APEA 2022 Regional Edition received endorsements from the Government of Penang and support from numerous associations, including the Association of Tourism Attractions Penang, the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers, and the Philippine Retailers Association, among others.
