After Four Years, the Popular Hangout Spot Announces Its Closure but Hints at a Possible Return

After four years of serving artisanal drinks and hosting lively gatherings, Rumi’s The Poet’s Cup has announced it will close its doors permanently. The well-loved café, known for its cosy ambience, live music, and game nights, shared the news via Instagram on Sunday (March 9).

Its final day of operation will be March 30. “Rumi was more than just a café—it was a sanctuary, thanks to all of you,” the owners wrote in a heartfelt post. “This chapter may be ending, but the memories will always remain.”

Although the café is shutting down, the team has not ruled out the possibility of reopening elsewhere. “Closing our doors is difficult, but we believe new opportunities will come. So, dear friends, this is not a farewell—just a ‘see you later’,” they assured patrons.

The exact reason behind the closure has not been disclosed, and AsiaOne has reached out for further details.

Originally a pop-up at events like Twilight: Flea & Feast in 2018, Rumi’s The Poet’s Cup gained a loyal following for its handcrafted drinks and dessert menu, which featured treats like brownies, waffles, and ice cream. Encouraged by customers, the team established a permanent spot in Haji Lane in December 2021.

Now, as the café prepares for its final weeks, fans have one last chance to visit before it bids farewell—for now.
