Burger & Lobster at Jewel Changi Suspended After 17 Fall Ill Following Meals

Investigation launched into gastroenteritis cases linked to the restaurant, with four hospitalized.

A Burger & Lobster outlet at Jewel Changi Airport has been suspended from May 16, 2022, following reports of 17 individuals falling ill after dining at the restaurant between May 7 and 15. A joint statement from the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) revealed that six cases of gastroenteritis are under investigation. Four people were hospitalized, one of whom has since been discharged, while the remaining three are reported to be in stable condition.
The incident has led to the suspension of the restaurant’s operations while investigations continue. Burger & Lobster, originally from the UK, operates two locations in Singapore, with the other situated at Raffles Hotel.
