ChipMOS Technologies Reports September 2022 Revenue Decline Amid Market Conditions

Q3 Revenue Shows Significant Decrease Compared to Previous Periods

HSINCHU, Taiwan, Oct. 7, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — ChipMOS TECHNOLOGIES INC. (“ChipMOS” or the “Company”) (Taiwan Stock Exchange: 8150 and NASDAQ: IMOS), a leading provider of outsourced semiconductor assembly and test services (OSAT), has released its unaudited consolidated revenue figures for September 2022 and the third quarter ending September 30, 2022. The financial data cited in this announcement reflects an exchange rate of NT$31.78 to US$1.00 as of September 30, 2022.
For the third quarter of 2022, ChipMOS reported a revenue of NT$5,254.0 million (approximately US$165.3 million), marking a decrease of 23.3% from the previous quarter and a 26.6% drop compared to the same quarter in 2021.

In September 2022, the company’s revenue totaled NT$1,590.9 million (about US$50.1 million), which represents a 7.2% decline from August 2022 and a significant 32.1% decrease year-over-year from September 2021.

ChipMOS acknowledged that despite having robust long-term business catalysts, the revenue decline in both monthly and yearly comparisons is indicative of wider market conditions and ongoing inventory adjustments driven by fluctuating end market demand, a trend currently affecting the semiconductor industry as a whole.
