The Actor and Host Kanny Theng Celebrate Their Love with a Private Banquet

Singaporean actor Desmond Ng is set to marry television host Kanny Theng today (March 28), marking a new chapter in their long-term relationship. The 37-year-old shared the joyful news on Instagram, posting pre-wedding photos alongside a heartfelt message: “To my best friend and soulmate, here’s to forever.”

Reports indicate that the couple will celebrate their union with an intimate dinner banquet attended by close friends and family, with nearly 100 guests expected.

During a recent episode of Just Swipe Lah with host Juin Teh, Desmond reflected on his younger self’s vision of marriage. “I always thought 27 was the right age, but time flew by, and now I’m almost 38,” he admitted.

When asked about the length of their relationship, he revealed that they had never kept precise track. “We tried to figure it out but didn’t settle on a final answer—roughly seven to eight years,” he shared.

Desmond proposed on January 9 last year at Yangmingshan National Park in Taiwan, choosing the scenic spot to make the moment unforgettable. “I wanted a location with a great view, so when I look back, I’ll feel good about it,” he explained.

Speaking about Kanny’s reaction, he recalled asking if she was surprised. “She said yes because I’m not usually the type to plan grand gestures like this,” he said with a laugh.
