From Sending Love Letters to Navigating Fan Fame and Expecting Fatherhood
Jordan Fisher, the talented actor and singer known for his breakout roles in Grease: Live, Rent: Live, and To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You, recently opened up about a cringey moment from his youth and his fan experiences. During a virtual roundtable for the Disney Pixar film Turning Red, the 27-year-old star shared a funny memory from his childhood, confessing that he once sent a love letter to an actress on a Nickelodeon show called The Naked Brothers Band.
“I had a crush on this girl when I was a kid, and I sent a love letter at 11,” he recalled, adding that, unfortunately, the letter was never returned.
Fisher’s career has only skyrocketed since then, with a dedicated fanbase drawn to his charming personality and impressive performances. But despite the fame, Fisher maintains a grounded perspective on his fans. While he admits that some fans can be overzealous, he also expressed how his international experiences, particularly in Asia, have been “nothing short of kind and warm.”
He explained that in some places like America, fans can be more “forward,” sometimes crossing personal boundaries. To navigate these situations, Fisher humorously shares that his wife, Ellie Woods, and their soon-to-arrive baby often help him gracefully escape awkward fan moments.
Speaking of his personal life, Fisher also revealed that he married his childhood sweetheart, Ellie, in 2020, and they are expecting their first child. The couple has known each other since they were 13, marking a beautiful love story that’s about to reach a new chapter.
In Turning Red, Fisher voices Robaire, one of the five members of the fictional boy band 4*Town. His character and the film’s portrayal of teenage adoration resonate with Fisher, who sees parallels between his character’s popularity and his own real-life fan following.
Fisher’s experiences remind us that while fame brings attention, it’s the respect and kindness from fans that make the journey worthwhile.
