Direct listing service aims to enhance transparency in the HDB resale market.
Since the soft launch of the resale flat listing service on May 13, 2024, over 600 Housing and Development Board (HDB) resale flats have been listed directly on the HDB Flat Portal, according to an announcement made on May 30, 2024.
The official launch of this service allows prospective HDB flat buyers and their appointed property agents to browse listings and engage in transactions directly with flat sellers or their agents. Sellers have the option to list their flats independently or appoint a property agent to manage the listing.
Property agents can utilize a personalized dashboard on the HDB Flat Portal to oversee their clients’ activities. This feature is designed to enable agents to offer value-added services, including budgeting assistance and guidance on the subsequent steps in the purchasing process. HDB encourages prospective buyers to plan their budgets carefully and exercise financial prudence to avoid overstretching their finances.
The Resale Flat Listing (RFL) service aims to establish a transparent, reliable, and trusted marketplace for HDB resale flats. The board emphasized that the service, along with authenticated access via Singpass, seeks to create a more secure environment for transactions, whether facilitated by property agents or not.
Additionally, HDB reserves the right to remove listings that exhibit unrealistic pricing or contain misleading information, ensuring the integrity of the portal.
