Singapore – The much-anticipated launch of bookings for the Disney Adventure, Asia’s first Disney Cruise, drew immense demand on 10 December, leading to significant delays on the Disney Cruise Line (DCL) website. The ship will homeport in Singapore for at least five years, with sailings from December 2025 to March 2026.
The inaugural sailing, scheduled for 15 December 2025, has already seen rooms fully booked. Unlike the usual 72-hour window to confirm reservations with a 20% deposit, passengers on the maiden voyage must pay within 24 hours to secure their bookings, or they will be released back to the public.
Technical Challenges and User Complaints
Heavy website traffic caused hours-long delays, with users reporting difficulties accessing the booking system and completing payments. A banner on the DCL website acknowledged the disruptions, apologising for the inconvenience and warning users of potential delays.
Travel operators also faced challenges. EU Holidays, a local tour agency, reported that only 20 out of 100 customer bookings had been successfully completed by mid-afternoon due to system issues.
A DCL spokesperson noted overwhelming interest from both local and international markets, particularly for the Christmas, New Year, and maiden voyage dates. Checks showed that online travel platforms such as Klook had sold out, while limited availability remained on sites like KKDay and Traveloka.
Cruise Features and Pricing
The Disney Adventure, featuring seven themed zones and a rollercoaster on its upper decks, does not include any ports of call. Its most sought-after accommodations include verandah rooms and deluxe inside staterooms, which offer proximity to dining, shopping, and entertainment areas onboard.
Three- and four-night voyages are still available for January to March 2026, starting at $1,413 and $1,864, respectively. Traveloka confirmed steady bookings from Singapore and neighbouring countries like Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam. Searches for Disney cruises on its platform remained high throughout the day.
With its innovative features and regional debut, the Disney Adventure is set to redefine cruise experiences in Asia despite the technical hiccups during its booking launch.
