Risen Energy Achieves TÜV SÜD Certification for Groundbreaking 700W Solar Module

First Company Worldwide to Certify High-Efficiency HJT Product with Ultra-Thin Wafer

NINGBO, China, August 13, 2022 – Risen Energy, a prominent solar module manufacturer in China, has announced the successful testing and certification of its 210mm 700W heterojunction (HJT) product lineup, known as the Hyper-ion series, by TÜV SÜD. This certification makes Risen Energy the first company globally to receive TÜV SÜD approval for a high-efficiency HJT solar module utilizing ultra-thin wafers.

Zhulin Zhang, Operation Director and Chief Technical Certifier of TÜV SÜD Smart Energy, commented, “The launch of the Hyper-ion series is a significant advancement in solar technology. This series addresses the increasing demand for high-efficiency, large wafer photovoltaic modules essential for solar power plants.”

The certification of the 700W module assures customers of its performance, safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, crucial for addressing the evolving challenges in the solar industry. Yafeng Liu, Senior Director of R&D at Risen Energy, expressed pride in being the first to achieve this certification, attributing the success to two years of dedicated research and development. “We tackled numerous technical challenges to reach this vital innovation for the solar sector,” he stated.

The TÜV SÜD certification confirms the Hyper-ion series’ exceptional performance, stability, reliability, and safety features, which include ultra-thin 210mm silicon wafers, a 24-busbar design, and various patented technologies from Risen Energy. Liu emphasized that this product could lead to significantly reduced CO2 emissions, lower overall costs, and improved investor returns, thereby contributing to a long-term, reliable, and affordable energy supply.

By adhering to IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 standards, Risen Energy’s Hyper-ion series enhances the company’s portfolio of high-efficiency products and allows it to meet regional market demands for more efficient solar modules. The Hyper-ion modules utilize 120μm half wafers with four chamfers, μc-Si doping layers, and low silver content pastes. With a power output of up to 700W, the Hyper-ion cells achieve an efficiency surpassing 25.5%, and the module efficiency reaches 22.53%. Designed to lower the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) by 10% compared to PERC modules, Hyper-ion has successfully passed the 5X IEC test, with third-party verification indicating a carbon footprint value of less than 400kg eq CO2/kWc.
