Singapore Conference Pioneers International Data Exchange Framework
The Global Data Ecosystem Conference 2022 commenced its first stop in Singapore on Nov. 22, themed around “International Data Trading Practice and Data Ecosystem Construction.” Organized by the Shanghai Data Exchange and featuring support from Singapore’s SGTech and global partners, the event aims to foster global data market integration, share insights on data practices, and promote digital economy partnerships such as the DEPA and CPTPP agreements.
Expanding Global Data Market: Insights and Initiatives
The Singaporean stop marks a key milestone for the conference, which is set to host 20 high-level forums across several cities. The forums will explore foundational aspects of the data factor market, global data standards, and innovation in data technologies. Topics like “Basic Institutional Theories for Data Factors” and “Global Cooperation of Data Factors” will bring together over 500 industry players, including more than 200 experts, to discuss trends and advancements in the digital economy.
China-Singapore Collaboration in Data Markets
As the Shanghai Data Exchange opens its first international branch in Singapore, officials are fostering connectivity between China and Singapore’s data markets. Leaders like Lu Yong and Antoine Cadoux inaugurated the new Shanghai Data Exchange-Singapore Liaison Office, further bridging the data ecosystems of both nations. The event also featured keynote speakers who shared regional expertise, including Singapore’s Kam Yoke May and European representatives Boris Otto and Lars Bäumann, highlighting collaborative approaches to data exchange and technology innovation.
