Standard Chartered Launches First Global Fund Management Entity in Singapore

New funds tailored for high-net-worth clients to debut in select markets

On June 10, 2024, Standard Chartered Bank announced the establishment of its first variable capital company (VCC) in Singapore, named Standard Chartered Funds VCC (SC Fund). This new global fund management entity aims to provide tailored investment opportunities for high-net-worth clients.

In its initial phase, the funds will be available to select accredited and professional investors across Singapore, Hong Kong, and Dubai. Clients will gain access to exclusive, custom-curated strategies that are typically difficult to access in the market.

Standard Chartered’s investment professionals will collaborate with leading global fund managers as sub-investment managers, overseeing investment decisions and day-to-day portfolio management. The funds will emphasize long-term strategic asset allocation as part of clients’ foundational portfolios, aligning with the bank’s advisory on diversification with core holdings.

Future Expansion:
Samir Subberwal, the bank’s global head of wealth solutions, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, stating, “We are delighted to offer the first solution under SC Fund to high-net-worth clients in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Dubai, and look forward to extending the same offering to clients in other key markets very soon.”

This initiative reflects Standard Chartered’s commitment to meeting the wealth management needs of its clients while capitalizing on the growing demand for sophisticated investment options.
