Viral Video Shows Animals’ Encounter with Man-Made Structures
While wild boars are becoming a more common sight in Singapore, some still struggle to navigate the urban environment. In a video posted by Singapore Incidents on November 6, two wild boars were seen attempting to squeeze through a green railing, but they ran into trouble.
The first boar got stuck midway, unable to get its rear end through the gap. Fortunately, it had help from another boar, which gave it a nudge from behind, pushing it through. However, the second wild boar found itself in the same predicament, but this time with no help in sight.
A passing jogger spotted the distressed animal and, after a few curious glances, attempted to assist by gently patting the boar’s backside. The video cuts off at that point, leaving viewers unsure of whether the animal was eventually freed.
This incident follows a similar one in September when another wild boar got stuck in a road divider along Rivervale Drive. In that case, NParks officers had to tranquilize the boar to free it, though the animal was later euthanized due to injuries sustained during its escape attempts.
NParks advises the public to maintain a safe distance when encountering wild boars, as they are strong and fast and can cause injury if provoked.
